Raw vs Jpg
1. Explain the main differences between a raw and jpeg file.
- RAW is the preferred choice for important events. It gives you more control in post-processing, helping recover details from poorly lit or overexposed shots. This flexibility is crucial when capturing once-in-a-lifetime momentsRAW files contain all the unprocessed data captured by a camera’s sensor. They offer maximum flexibility for editing (exposure, white balance, shadows, highlights).
- Jpg are compressed and processed in-camera. They’re smaller, ready-to-use, and ideal for quick sharing, but they lose some image data during compression.
2. Which file is bigger RAW or Jpeg?
RAW files are significantly larger than JPEGs because they retain all image data without compression
3. Can you change a Raw file to a Jpeg, once your photos are the computer? How?
Yes You can convert RAW files to JPEG using photo editing.
- Adobe Lightroom
- Photoshop
- Capture On
4. If you were shooting an important event would you shoot it RAW or Jpeg? Explain.
